Adobe dreamweaver CS5

Long time since I've had to resolve an issue with this horrible software.....

 

The Preview in browser selection list isn't auto populating with chrome in it. It apparently used to a long time ago, or so I'm told. Anyone know of any config file, registry tweak etc i can do to automatically make it see the path to chrome.exe?

 

On the subject: Any alternatives to this anyone can recommend? None of the IT teachers like it, we only have it out of convenience as the whole package used to be used years ago, they all used to like the old macromedia suite before adobe took over, but that had problems with windows 7 if i remember correctly. They also don't like microsoft expression studio so not that one. Any others?

I assume you have tried a reinstall of both chrome and adobe? I've just checked our install in CS4 and CS6 and it shows the browsers.

I quite like dreamweaver having used at college too. Our IT staff used Serif WebPlus at one point and I thought that it was worse than the adobe!

Haven't tried reinstalling either, mainly because if that is the solution i'll be telling them the path they have to enter to do it manually, as i don't have time for that I suppose i should test it on one though just to be sure...... It happens on every PC and not just one unfortunately, so I'm hoping there's a file somewhere i can tweak to just force it to add it to the list of browsers.

Not sure about CS5, but the browser preview setting for the latest Dreamweaver is stored in the registry.

Or better yet because i've got nothing better to do with my evenings, i've looked for it now, and it is in that exact location. Solution deployed, tested and working
