Print Queue view

We have a number of Large format printers, we are able to see a view of the queue which is waiting on the server to be printed.

 

But what students aren't able to do is see what is currently printing....

eg when a document gets to the printer it disapears from the server queue.

 

The option to see this is available on the printer, but when you enable it, it gives the option to delete jobs which we don't want

When we have a hand in the printers are going like mad and students are constantly having problems when loading there own paper (not allowing this isn't an option)

 

What I'm wondering is... is there a way to create a website or app that will tap into the Jobs section of the LFP and to show the current job name on the printer.

 

I know this must be possible, just not sure where to start.
