ICT Consultant Role

 

Nexus Associates is an ICT consultancy that has been specialising in consultancy in the educational arena for 15 years and has provided services to numerous educational establishments. In addition we support a number of construction companies, architects, and design teams implementing ICT within design and build programs throughout the UK.

 

Job Description

 

We are recruiting someone who has excellent experience in Educational ICT; who may currently be helping to support a robust technical environment and/or developing a progressive technical strategy that underpins the school’s educational vision.

 

The successful candidate will be highly knowledgeable in relation to educational use of technologies and current trends within the educational market. They will also have a proven track record in IT and particular interest in infrastructure and Wi-Fi technologies.

 

The role will be to work with a wide range of professionals, from the design and construction industry including architects, mechanical and engineering specialists, program managers and quantity surveyors. The candidate will need excellent communication skills, interfacing and directly briefing school Senior Management Teams, Governors or heads of Educational Trusts working in a technical consultancy role.

 

In this role the successful candidate will travel to a broad range of clients from construction partners through to school teams, providing technical advice on a range of topics:

 

· ICT building impact

· ICT Strategy for Schools

· Infrastructure design

· Passive & Active

· Wireless (Heat Mapping)

· Network Management

· Server Solutions

· Telephony

· Apple, Android and Microsoft client solutions

· Mobile Device Management

· Project Management of ICT solutions

· IT process such as ITIL/FITS

 

When not onsite you will need to be able to work from home to complete activities as required to meet project deadlines.

 

Our candidate must have proven skills in information technology and be willing to develop their skills as industry changes dictate. We are looking for an individual who is self disciplined, a self starter and who is happy to take the initiative when given the opportunity and ask for support when needed. We need someone who:

 

· Is able to demonstrate a reasonable level of skills in a wide range of infrastructure technology

· Is presentable, personable and confident working with a wide range of people

· Is able to organise themselves and their tasks

· Can create and present good quality written output

· Has attention to detail

· Can effectively manage their time

· Is able to work individually, as well as in a team

 

The candidate must be able to drive and be willing to travel to client sites across the UK
