One Device For Each Student? BYOD for students maybe?

Hello,

 

I was wondering any schools in North West provide a device for each student in the North West? Or maybe you have a BYOD system where students use personal devices for teaching and learning? If so I was wondering if myself and my manager could some to visit and see how you do it please?

I believe ESSA Academy in Bolton do, they use to anyway. If you contact them, they are usually happy to show you round.

 

Stretford High School may also have 1 to 1 iPads as well but I can't remember if it is exactly that.

ESSA Academy is one I was going to suggest as well. I believe Fallibroome School in Macclesfield have gone down the one to one route as well (although they may only be up to year 9 at this point, I don't think they've managed to do the whole school yet).

Just another thought, are you looking for Apple or Windows devices?

 

Essa Academy is Apple, I believe. Trentham Academy in Stoke is also an Apple school who have gone down the one to one route.

Isn't Fallibroome also a slightly different setup though, heavily Opensource etc. The last job I saw there was advertised as needing to be an expert in Slackware Linux amongst other things.

It certainly used to be (I've applied for two jobs there in the past), I know they had a new network manager earlier this year (I think) and I'm pretty sure it's been changed to Windows.

Thanks chaps. We are not looking for any in particular I would like to see all sides. I would in particularly like to see Chromebooks.
