HP proliant dl360 g5 - Hyper-V

Hi all,

I have a HP Proliant dl360 g5 I use at home to test stuff on my own dev network. I have been using vSphere but wanting to change to Hyper-V/server 2012 for the host.

 

I am running into a problem at the moment with installing and getting this error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu".

It is enabled and boots fine with VMWare, but just Hyper-V being picky. I have googled it and found out it relating to the "AHCI" support, but when trying to enable from BIOS I dont have this option to enable.

 

Does anyone know if this hardware supports Hyper-V install and if so, would it be a BIOS or another update needing?

You may need to get hold of the raid drivers for the server, Windows doesn't auto detect them, we have a g8 and I had to download the b320i raid controller drivers separately for adding in during install
