Hi There

THE PROBLEM

Mac clients will not boot and install the deployment image :(

At one point the clients would find the server and attempt to load the image once I told it to load it (The progress loading bar did move across), but after the client would just reboot go back to the current OSX install. I did notice when it rebooted it gave me a black screen with some writing on it.

The Mac clients will not even find the server now. When I press the N button on the boot screen the globe icon stays there for about 5 seconds, just blinking then disappears. If I press the N button again, it just stays there forever and keeps blinking.

HELP PLEASE...... I Hate Macs :(

Windows FTW

-------------------------------------------------------

We I have done...... Starting our Mac setup from scratch....

CLIENT SIDE

I have taken our newest iMac model upstairs to our office to make a new image from the classroom. (10.11 is what I have installed)

Installed two copies of OSX one just to make the actual image, and one being the base image.

All updates installed

Installed the following applications

- Logic Studio (All content)

- Finalcut (All content)

- Audacity (With Lame MP3)

- Pages (Probs pointiness has we have MS Office?)

- Numbers (As above)

- Keynote

- iMovie

- GarageBand (All content)

- MS Office 2016

- Impero Client

- MS Remote Desktop App

- Yamaha USB MIDI Driver

Tested Profile Manager settings on the other clean copy of OSX, worked fine.

Created the image, I did untick the recovery partition tickbox

SERVER SIDE

Reloaded our Mac Server with 10.11 (xServe)

Setup static IP and wrote in our Windows Servers DNS IP addresses

Setup server name

Installed Updates

Installed MacServer app

Configured new OD

Bind server to our AD

Setup group on OD with all our Students/Staff from AD for Profile Manager settings.

Installed all the applications as above on the client so we can add these apps to the dock and use app restrictions.

Setup Profile Manager restrictions for the OD group

NetInstall, chose the same partition the as the OSX is installed on, for data directory. Copied the nbi from the client to the server into the NetBoot folder and enabled NetInstall.

Thanks, bet this is something stupid and easy to fix (I hope)
