I have bought the SSD, and I have used clonezilla to copy the Partition over to the SSD, but it is not working, I either get a boot disk error, or it'll boot into a screen with an error code stating that the drive is inaccessable. I have tried to manually fix the MBR and Boot for this using the bootrec.exe command, with no luck. Any other suggestions?

Can I just ask, does the original hdd work as normal, following the partition changes?

Did you clone the entire disk HDD -> SSD, or just the main windows partition?

Yes it works as normal. And i first of all only imaged the windows partition

Okay. On the original disk, were there any other partitions, which you didn't copy across. Possibly name, 'System Reserved'.

Unless you explicitly forced Windows to install without a System Reserved partition, then you will be missing the boot loader.

Try cloning the disk, at least with the reserved partition, or you'll need to attempt to create the boot loader folder (\boot) on the single Windows partition.

Welp, that was bizarre.

 

All of my data was on one partition (which was 457GB Total with around 150GB free) on my original 1tb HD.

When I tried clonezilla again i tried to do the whole disk (which came up with a size warning etc) and asked if i wanted to move the MBR over the the new 500GB SSD anyway, so i said yes, then it started copying the whole disk over (even though it had an as expected error message before running), and it worked.
