GADS/Classroom - Groups

Tried searching about, and can't seem to find a solution apart from buying Salamander (Which I'm trying to get approved for this and SIMS etc)

 

In the meantime, could I pick somebody's google mind. We're using Classroom and the teachers at the moment are getting students to join via the class code. Which is working fine. However, I'd like them to be able to go to Invite students, Groups and select Year 12 etc

 

I've got GADs creating a group from an AD group I've made and it's appearing in the Admin console but it won't show in Classroom as an option.

The permissions on the group in the Admin console are for Team, if I try change the permission and hit save it looks like it saved but reloading the page the settings haven't changed.

 

Or have I got the process wrong completely, should I be making mailing lists instead?

@gumbygaz in the groups have you selected the tick box that says list this group in the directory? its under information in the group access settings. I know in ours if i go to classroom, students, invite. contacts. In the drop down box that says My contacts change it to directory and then in the search box type i.e. year10. comes up for me.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I see! Yes it appears in there. Was expecting it to appear in Groups!
