[sims] Vote for a reporting CR? Relative (last week/month/term) dates in reports

Hi,

 

So we started playing with scheduled reports (from within SIMS) and have quickly concluded they're nearly useless because the most-used reports (attendance, assessment etc) require a date range.

 

With that in mind, would anyone mind voting for CR 1406-1310211 which says "Week/month/term to date would be really handy Capita, why isn't it a feature in reporting when this functionality is exposed elsewhere in SIMS?":

 

To set a data range to be yesterday/last week/last month to allow more scheduled reports 1406-1310211

 

It is annoying that you cannot set up a report that needs to be run regularly as a scheduled report, because you need to manually change the applicable date range every time. It would be great if, in addition to the existing ranges (between/before/after) we could also add in the last X days, or in the last week/month etc. This would mean most of our reports could be scheduled to run overnight, and be ready for use in the morning - this would save time and improve processing speed during the work day.

edit: I searched change requests as SIMS > Reporting module > "date range schedule (I think)" which brought up the aforementioned change request on page 1.

There is a workaround involving CommandReporter, a bit of scripting and Windows Scheduled Tasks, but I totally agree this would be a great feature to have. Voted.

 

EDIT: how on earth do you find a CR by number on the new site?

It's from June 2014 so it might be years before Capita get to it. I won't hold my breath.

Yeah, I spotted your post. I'd quite like there to be an option that didn't involve "Pete, can you.......?" and instead be a self-service option.

Make sure you put the quotes around it and it should bring it straight up that did it for me..
