claireadams Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I thought 'kiosk mode' might do it but nope. Does anyone know how to restrict a local user to only be able to use notepad? It's probably obvious but I can't find it anywhere
NB9457 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Applocker and only allow notepad? Set Gruop policy as you would to restrict user, disable the C drive access, run and powershell commands and redirect the start and desktop menu to notepad only, worked for me in the past!

You can set GPs for local machines too.
claireadams Posted November 18, 2015 Author Posted November 18, 2015 Thanks, managed a work around as they were needed that day. Created local user as a 'child account' and restricted the settings. That being said there are issues with a few not opening the 'PC settings'. It tries and eventually fails. I've tried the WSReset, made sure it's up to date and still nothing.
