We have a new reprographics tech who would like to implement some kind of electronic booking system for photocopying work etc. He's suggested that we should set up osticket for this. I haven't used it before, so I don't know how suitable it would be...I'm inclined to think it might be overkill, but perhaps not. Anyone got an effective electronic reprographics booking thing...?

If its photocopying would the member of staff needing copies or booklets made be expected to log an osticket and then drop off the corresponding document?

Here staff can either email the document they want copying with details of amounts, binding etc to a general reprographics email address, drop the file in a reprographics shared area or simply fill out a paper based form and paper clip the document required to it and stick in the in tray - reprographics staff prioritise as required.

We have set up a shared folder where staff can drop work they want Reprographics to deal with. We used File Server Resources Manager to send an E-Mail to our lady in Reprographics whenever something new pops up in that folder. It is assumed that it is to be copied single sided, mono, and on white A4. If there are any specific requirements staff are aware that they should follow up with an E-Mail of their own.

Staff and Reprographics are happy with it and it has been in place for quite a while now.
