ITGURU Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) I've just received a very authentic looking SPAM email claiming to be from Google! However, as soon as I clicked the link and it went to http :// googleconfirm .org (spaces add to prevent resolution) I knew it was suspicious! Looks very genuine to the casual user who may receive it. Edited November 15, 2015 by elsiegee40 Neutralised the URL by adding spaces 3
elsiegee40 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) @ITGURU Can you post the email text for reference please? Edited November 15, 2015 by elsiegee40
ITGURU Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 @ITGURU Can you post the email text for reference please? Scrubbed out my email address, but here it is 1
NokiX Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 We received this as well to our head teachers email account however our filtering picked this up and moved it automatically to our junk address. Pretty convincing email for those using gmail although it falls flat when you know you use an internal exchange server!
DanHamilton Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Just added this to our filter, thanks for sharing.
ITGURU Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 Only just seen the typo error this morning!! "Accourt"
