Chrome For Windows Single Sign On

Hi All,

 

I wasn't sure where to put this, but I guess the solution would be more advanced so I thought the Enterprise Software form might be the place, but feel free to move this.

 

I have setup Google Apps with SSO using ADFS 3.0. Works well, users can sign in to various Google web services without the need to enter a username or password.

 

How can I configure Google Chrome for Windows to automatically sign in to the Google Apps account please? Googling brings stuff up about Chromebooks, and this is not what I am after.

I don't have a solution but I am interested in this.

I honestly can't think how it would work without an initial sign in happening and windows saving the credentials in the profile.

You are asking for "pass through" authentication, not Single Sign On , as I understand the problem because you want Windows to automatically pass the auth details into the chrome browser?

Yes, so that would either require Windows to save the profile and the passwords (it does), or it would require windows to automatically supply the login details to the browser (it doesn't).

Has anyone found a way to achieve this? Don't really want to issue instructions telling people to type their email addresses three times before SSO finally works...

It is funny you should post this. Someone was grumbling about it Friday evening and I have to agree with them. It is a real pain!

Not a google apps user but will try and throw up a dev env, just looking and thought I would share this ADFS v3 on Server 2012 R2 – Allow Chrome to automatically sign-in internally | Jack Stromberg

 

In fact scratch that I have just realised what that fix was for.....

In fact scratch that I have just realised what that fix was for.....

 

For everyone this is is for web apps such as Outlook Web App, Gmail etc to automatically sign in via NTLM in using the Chrome browser. By default it will only work with Internet Explorer.
