ADFS3 + Password Change + sAMAccountName

I have enabled the Password Change Endpoint within ADFS, there's a slight modification I'd like to make to the actual login page itself. When our users log in to ADFS I have modified the onload.js so they just log in with their sAMAccountName as detailed here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn636121.aspx (Example 2). I'd like to do the same thing for the password change login UI so they don't have to do username@domain or domain\username, is this possible? I've searched Google without much success.
