Notebooks with long battery life

Has anyone bought any notebooks recently with 6 hours or more battery life? I'm just making a few enquiries at the moment for someone but cant seem to find much just by doing a google search

I don't know if it's of any help Dan but the last two Packard Bell notebooks I purchased (year between the buys) both run with great stability with the battery removed; off mains power. Most notebooks seem to need the battery in place for structural stability but these are fine with just the gap!.

Dell Latitude D series systems all have the capability of using dual batteries providing a full days use at my school. The media bay battery replaces the optical drive, which is something less for students to fiddle with.

 

We have around 200 Latitude D systems of various flavours all with dual batteries.

You can get thin add-on battery packs the shape of the underside of a laptop that clip to your laptop and plug in to the laptop's DC in port, providing another 2 or 3 hours worth (I think) of battery time. Hmm, wonder if they make those for the Eee yet?

This is something that annoys me about all the laptops supposedly designed and sold especially for schools - lack of twin batteries. You'd think it'd be the obvious feature, simply have two battery slots so you could be charging one whilst using the other.
