HyperV Cluster - Fibre / DR split rooms

Good Evening Guys,

 

Apologies in advance for my epicly bad paint skills but trying to explain this one is a bit hard without pictures

 

 

Basically we currently have a Production Server Room - (2HOST cluster linked to SAN), and a DR Room - (1 HOST linked to 1 SAN). Currently these act independent and the DR room is only used as the target for Veeam to replicate too.

 

Now the DR room is out of warranty and needs replacing this year (5 year old SAN with disks already failing ), and to save money/make better configuration my thoughts were though is there any issue with linking the 3rd host into the production using the SAN over fibre, but also having local DAS for the DR side if the Server room dies.

 

Will there be any issues with running the HOST3 in the cluster over a fibre connection in another area? I'm assuming it "should" act no different to if the HOST3 was in the Server room and connected directly to ISCSI 1 switch?

 

And even if the whole server room goes down, HOST3 will break in terms of the cluster as there's no shared storage, but can bring up the replicas from the DAS? Or can't it work this way?
