SIMS December Update - Power Cut

Anyone else have a power cut this morning whilst performing the December update...no just me then....

 

It happened towards the end of the process, when it was applying several thousand SQL batches. I'm now locked out of sims, solus et al.. Reason 0. Not taking any user names or passwords.

 

Any ideas anyone..apart from the old start from scratch.

 

SIMS seems to be still on 7.97 and dbUpgrade is on 2.11.10.24603

I've had similar before - restore and repeat it is...

Full restore of the HDD? or can I get away with just SIMS files, if so, which!!

I did everything in S:\SIMS.

If it got as far as executing the batches then that must mean it got past the point of making a backup. Look in your MSSQL$SIMS\Backup folder (or MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup if you've done your SQL migration), extract the ZIP file it created and restore it using dbattach /restoreui.

Thanks chaps.

In the end, it was a restore of the ldf and mdf, which allowed me access to solus (after being completely locked out) and I re-ran the downloaded updates. All fine now..and the server is now actually plugged into the UPS.....
