projector1 Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) We are not far off from purchasing a ISCSI based SAN solution. We are looking at the storevault from Netapps and also the Axstor Ai Series. Performance wise Axstor is supposed to be the world's fastest iscsi solution. Price wise it is very economical and affordable. In fact much cheaper than alot of other SAN's on the market. It is also PC Pro recommended! link http://www.axstor.com/default.htm Any body using Axstor hardware? Edited January 15, 2008 by projector1
cjohnsonuk Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 We're now in the same situation, looking to buy 2 x 12 bay units. Price per performance they seem ideal. Many other similar storage devices seem much slower. PC Pro no longer have it on their A list despite the new favourite being slower adn more expensive. Not sure what's going on there! Anyone using one of these? We've decided to go for 12bay rather than the much cheaper tower as we can stack more disks in it to give us more speed which with more multimedia coming into schools is goign to start to be an issue.
sahmeepee Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 Price per performance they seem ideal. Without spilling the beans on anything confidential, what sort of price are you looking at for a 12-bay rackmount and which model are you looking at?
