the_quick Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Hi All Is there a way to have two Sims clients windows open at the same time? At the moment out attendance office have two screens and on second one she uses RDP to VM to have another Sims window. That not always problem free. It would be just easier to have 2 sims programs running at the same time. Anyone has done it? Thanks Kris
sted Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 only way i can think of is if you have a remote desktop server and run it as a remote app or possibly as a appv package
bladedanny Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 There's apparently a /MULTIINSTANCE for pulsar.exe that lets you have more than one instance of SIMS open. Haven't tried it but supposedly it's there. There are a few edugeek posts about it.
bladedanny Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Just given it a test and it does indeed work. I created a second SIMS shortcut called SIMS multi and added /MULTIINSTANCE (two I s) after plusar.exe (got rid of the SIMSload bit). Once SIMS was open I ran the SIMS Multi shortcut and logged in again. Hope this helps. 1
gumbygaz Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Yeah we use remote desktop for our our attendance officer - She wants SIMS in 1024x768 resolution, but to run certain tasks needs higher resolution to fit in all the buttons(!) So have to use remote desktop to launch it with a different resolution so she can run both at the same time.
the_quick Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 Thanks to all of you, multiinstance did it ! Thanks bladedanny ! Kris

Tesla Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) @bladedanny Could you screenshot how you changed it in properties? I can't seem to get it to work. Thanks SUSSED IT. Edited October 14, 2015 by Tesla
Dkeen94 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Just got this working! Could be useful to a few people here.
vikpaw Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I tried last time there was a thread on this exact subject and the multiinstance didn't work. I'll try again tomorrow, as it would have been useful to fix a problem i had today.
