WSUS 80244019 Error

I have WSUS installed on our SCCM box which doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I try and run Windows Update on any machine I am told how many updates are pending but when I choose to install updates I get the error 80244019.

 

I have checked the sync within SCCM and WSUS - both of which say have sync'd with Microsoft Update successfully. I have checked the Technet forums and have found solutions which are poles apart! I have enabled directory browsing to ensure the files are visible and present - which they are however I am at a loss as to where to look next. I don't have a GPO for WSUS as I have configured my SCCM to push the updates (so I assumed I didn't have to?) - I don't appear to see an option to input a server/ host though?

 

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Has this worked before or is it a new install? As normally if you're using the SCCM option you wouldn't see the updates in Windows Update as it isn't set to use WSUS but the SCCM client. (Also shouldn't be using WSUS as it's all done via the SCCM console that takes over WSUS)

 

Few things to check though, take it your software updates are enabled in the Default Client Settings? Also what's the actual error in the distmgr.log

Has the WSUS server properly sync'd the downloads to the update definitions yet? You shouldn't need to set any GPO's for SCCM updating... have a little peek in the WSUS console see what's going on

 

You can also check the %windir%\Windowsupdate.log for any hints

Thanks! I think I may have been looking in the wrong place, I assumed SCCM used the WSUS console and just linked it for ease! I've just deployed some updates and will do some further testing! Strangely, when open Windows Update manually I receive the error, however when I deploy an update, it just installs it! (or at least it appears to install!)

Hmmm I think that SCCM manipulates the WUAgent when it is deploying updates but if you tried to do an update through the normal Windows Update panel it tries to hit the WSUS server that isn't configured, but I am thinking out loud here!
