Apple Config 2 And Meraki

Have had to do the update. I've got two macs which are used to config nearly 200 iPads. I set everything up and it was working brilliantly until the new OS update and the config update. Now none of my iPads will going through config and I'm not even sure where we assign the iPad's name/details.

 

Anyone else having problems?

Yeah Apple Configurator 2 and Meraki get on like marmite on pizza.

 

Or something like that.

 

I ended up scrapping my original configurator workflow and instead I set up an iPad exactly how I wanted it with restrictions and also enrolled to Meraki, then took a backup via configurator. Then for every other iPad I just restore from backup and enroll, who needs supervision anyway!

Does anyone know how i edit a profile that was created on the older version of the Apple Configurator before it was updated? The profile is still working on the iPads, just whenever i try to edit the profile there's no option to edit it, only create new one which i don't really want to do because i can't remember what the profile settings were.

 

I am wanting to keep the font size for the wallpaper lock screen exactly the same on the iPads, but whenever i create a new profile and edit the restrictions that stop the students from changing the wallpaper the font size turns really small on the iPads which isn't really what i'm wanting.

Probably not helpful but I don't use Apple Config to lock everything down. I use Meraki to manage my iPad's and there is an option to stop students from changing the background and adding a passcode? You can even stop them from modifying user account settings and take away the camera if you want. It's just an option should you not want to mess with your profile.

Katalyst* do you mean there's an option on Meraki to stop the students from changing the lock screen wallpaper background and adding pass codes? If there is could you point me in the right direction to enable this??

I'm pretty sure you can edit imported ac1 profiles but you now have to do a lot of things from the menu bar at the top. The UI has limited options.
