It's a sad day, I've run out of space on my nas box at home and I can't afford larger disks :(

Assuming a few people on here will have a nas box at home how much space do you think is enough for your backups and media files?

Got 2TB mirrored, was looking at more but tbh after I watch movies etc a few times I've started clearing them as get bored :p

Guess it depends how much you want to keep long term

Got 4 x 2TB drives in RAID 5 giving me around 5.43TB of usable space. Currently using 1.67TB.

I sit at around 900GB of data on my drive which is backed up to the NAS daily, I do have a store on there for Clonezilla images too.

Oh I have no films or anything on mine, just lots of photos I've taken and edited at 350GB and similar on my software store (I keep various old versions which have saved my many a time).

I have two NAS drives, a single 2Tb for replaceable music and videos, and a separate 2-bay with 2 2Tb for true backups, plus 25Gb of cloud storage for my phone backup :)

Two 500Gb RAID1 drives in the box and a 500Gb external disk that everything is backed up to. I'm using about 220Gb all up.

Movies are on DVDS and VHS tapes, music on vinyl, cassettes and CDs and pictures are in the photo albums on my bookshelf. :)
