SIMS.net Combining duplicate students

Hi,

 

We have an issue where we have ended up with duplicate sims records for the same individual in SIMS. Often this relates to a pupil that was in main school at some point then left to go to another secondary school. They have then made an application to return to us in sixth form. For some reason the student record already in sims has not been re-used and a new record has been created.

 

The Autumn Census is now due and i am unable to assign the UPN to the new student record as it already exists in our database on the old record. I have tried removing it from the old record but it still refuses to accept it on the new record as it becomes a "former upn"

 

I have considered re-admitting the old record and manually transposing the curriculum assignment and then deleting the new record, but there is substantial attendance, behavior, linked documents etc already attached to the new record that i don't want to loose. Equally there is substantial historic information in the old record that i don't want to loose either.

 

Any suggestions gratefully received, and if anyone know if the whole grail of tools "combine student records" exists that would be wonderful
