xlandhenry Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 The guide on TechNet says updates of Office 2016 for Mac are provided as individual app bundles but where are we supposed to download these to our local network for distributing? The updates are all huge and I don't want the users to fecth them directly from Microsoft. And does it mean that the updates are cumulative and I can skip older ones and only install the latest for each app? Thanks.
psydii Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 If managed desktops, download to a machine and user Apple Remote Desktop to distribute. If lightly managed or byod, cache server will save your bandwidth and client devices can download and install automatically.
xlandhenry Posted October 12, 2015 Author Posted October 12, 2015 Thanks for your reply. But what I meant to ask was where Microsoft AutoUpdate stores the downloaded packages? Do I just update one of my clients and copy those .app files from Application folder?
Arthur Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) where Microsoft AutoUpdate stores the downloaded packages? It's probably easier to download the updates directly from Microsoft and then deploy them via ARD etc. http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/6/9/E695A9D5-20EE-44F3-ACB3-A8E50EB67B2E/Microsoft_Outlook_15.14.2_Updater.pkg http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/0/7/907A07B5-D983-4F5C-A592-6BBF54B153C4/Microsoft_PowerPoint_15.14.0_Updater.pkg http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/6/C/B6CE5B3D-0522-49E5-85D9-B19502C271B8/Microsoft_Word_15.14.0_Updater.pkg http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/7/8/178C4FDB-1B9E-4039-A060-658689506D4C/Microsoft_Excel_15.14.0_Updater.pkg http://download.microsoft.com/download/8/C/B/8CBF1ADF-1C81-4EF3-A716-0E337E19E2CC/Microsoft_OneNote_15.14.0_Updater.pkg Sources https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3088502 / https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3098225 Edited October 12, 2015 by Arthur

Had never been used to downloading updates directly from MS Support sites.
