Disposal of Smart Boards

Our normal providers for disposal of redundant ICT equipment have told us that they will charge a significant amount to collect Smart Boards.

 

Does anyone know of a company who will collect them for free?

 

Or has anyone sold worn out Smart Boards recently?

Working SmartBoards? Surely they're worth selling on if so, or donating. If they're dead, they would indeed be a pain to get rid of - no suggestions there.

They have never charged for us. They are pretty close to you as well so you should be reet.

Ours are not physically broken, but have lost accuracy - similar to another thread on here today. They're not good enough for our school, so I wouldn't inflict on another school and am too honest to sell on flea bay to an unfortunate...

What is the plan going forward for you guys? We have a number of old smart boards that have lost accuracy now. Are you replacing them with new boards or interactive TVs? Not something that we have usually accounted for in our yearly budget but might have to consider some sort of plan.

I picked up some second hand boards from bsf rebuilds who were disposing of all ICT kit. They've had about three years of use, so I should be OK for another couple of years. The best products I've seen are the interactive projectors with finger tracking. I prefer them to the flat panels because of robustness, size of image to price ratio and TCO - about £1000 for a board with 5 year guarantee, no filter maintenance and replacement bulbs at £50. The downside is that that doesn't include Smart Notebook....
