Just finishing install right now, I was going to download the GM but it wasnt long to wait anyway.

EDIT: Damn apple have broken MenuMeters and they dont know if it can be fixed thanks to the signing junk.

Got it installed here, took a longer time backing up my mac in case things went wrong.

iStat Menus works perfectly fine on El Capitan so the developer of MenuMeters must be doing something wrong if he can't get it working on Apple's latest OS (even with SIP disabled).

Will take a look, really miss MenuMeters. This is from their site:

Due to new Apple-enforced code signature restrictions, MenuMeters is not compatible with the OS X 10.11 "El Capitan" public beta. Although the restriction is similar, this is not directly related to 10.11's "System Integrity Protection" (SIP, aka "rootless") feature and disabling SIP has no effect on MenuMeters.

Unless Apple makes the signature restriction optional, it is not clear that MenuMeters in its present form can ever be made compatible with OS X 10.11.

In the meantime I can only suggest that you do not install 10.11 if you wish to use MenuMeters.

^ Basically the developer could make their app work properly in El Capitan by code signing it properly like other developers do, but they don't want to?

I'd encourage that people do not do upgrades of the OS and rather do a backup/wipe/fresh install.

Had one test computer running OS X 10.11 GM that I tested with an upgrade and a couple weeks after I had to wipe it as it became useless to use.

Yeah I will probably wipe when the .1 comes out in the next few months, I usually do it around then.

Its made a right mess of my 2013 Macbook. Decimated the battery from 80% to 20% in a 30 minute install. Now it runs like a dog. Everything less responsive, Mail now permanently 'downloading messages' and laggy responses all over the shop!

Time to reformat back to yosemite - I should have learned my lesson with IOS 8 - only put the latest update on the very latest product...

It's made a right mess of my 2013 Macbook.

Upgrade or clean install? If the former perhaps it might be worth doing what @Carter suggested rather than going back to Yosemite?

Upgrade in this case - daft that a revision should require a flat install. Its not like 10.11 actually offers a massive change from 10.5 - although it has caught up with Windows in offering split view!

Yosemite was rock solid on my macbook - I think I'll stick with it - I got burned with ios8 on my older ipad!

I'm glad this isn't my main machine. The mail app is completely borked, can't download any new messages. The flaming thing is almost too hot to touch on the underside now after being on for an hour or two.

So I had a lovely macbook running 10.10, and 10.11 has trashed it. This seems to be the case with updates from lots of people these days!

I'll probably be leaving it at least 12 months before this goes on our work Macs. Not long finished getting them all to Yosemite, along with all of the updated software to go with it. Avid barely recognise that 10.10 is a thing - they'll only make stuff that works on .11 when .12 comes out.

If you have an Early 2015 13" Retina MacBook Pro you may want to avoid upgrading to 10.11.4.

Mac Users Reporting Widespread System Freezes With OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Update

A large number of MacBook Pro owners running OS X El Capitan are reporting widespread system freezes since installing the 10.11.4 update to Apple's Mac OS.

Hundreds of MacRumors forum members have been posting to a dedicated thread to discuss the issue, which spans 20 pages at the time of writing. The problem appears to be concentrated on 13-inch Retina MacBook Pros (Early 2015) running 10.11.4. Users report that their system becomes totally unresponsive at seemingly random times, with no way to regain access to their Mac other than to force a hard reboot.

I have experienced this issue on one of our rMBPs at school.

10.11.5 is out!

Fixes an issue where applying a configuration profile to set allowSpotlightInternetResults to Falsewould cause Spotlight to use large amounts of CPU time.
Fixes an issue where applying a configuration profile to set ShutDownDisabledWhileLoggedIn to Truewould have no effect.
Fixes an issue where only a single NetBoot image would appear in the Startup Disk pane of System Preferences, even if multiple NetBoot images were configured on the server.

Bah. I only have it on three machines out of 55 or so, not to worry yet. I'm glad I have dropped back to a 'year behind' policy for OS X though, as Yosemite is excellent now.
