[sims] Lesson Monitor and Dinner Money Problem - Sessions and Lessons

Heya,

 

We had registers set up as AM/PM and we were able to search for a class register and take that register and have the dinner money tab show up and also take the dinners. We have now moved to lesson monitor and now the dinner money tab doesn't turn up when we're doing a "registration period" register. I've been advised that:

There is a workaround which allows the Dinner Register to be taken but this is via the Edit Marks function. Regarding this workaround:

 

o It will only work if the timetable/LM has been set up with sessions defined for registration (i.e. not with session registration linked into a teaching period). If this is not configured, then there is no way of specifying a ‘sessions’ view in Edit Marks and if there are no sessions then Dinner Money will not appear.

 

o If the school takes attendance using Take Register, the Dinner Money tab will show when a Session Register is opened. If a Lesson Register is selected the Dinner Money tab does not show.

 

o Where a school uses a teaching period in Nova as their Registration Session, Lesson Monitor then displays 2 columns: AM/PM and Reg (or whatever it's been called on the cycle in Nova). The school would then use the 'Copy Lesson Marks to Session' options in the Lesson Monitor setup to ensure that the mark from the Reg period is copied into the AM/PM session column. However, this means that there is no AM/PM session Register to open and therefore no Dinner Money tab can be seen in Take Register.

 

We want the staff to be able to take registers using "Take register and not by doing the "edit marks" workaround, can anyone help how we can change the "registration" period to a session to take dinner money and still keep all the staff and students allocated to that period?
