ePortal working but attendance / register data not appearing in CMIS

Hello, we have ePortal up and running (on two servers in fact) and people can log in and submit the registers. This data was not appearing in CMIS / attendance however - but this appears to have fixed now. Only change was entering the previous licence into Facility Controller.

(Facility Dataserver is pointed to the right server and dataset, and client configuration as NamePIPES.)

Now our problem is that no clients resolve the page http://server:8080/eportal

That address appears OK on the server itself.

I think it is running with Tomcat / Apache, as there is no IIS stuff on this server.

Ideas?

ePortal is served using apache so runs on 8080 and (i believe, from memory) 8443. Most schools stick IIS on top of that and serve it from IIS using port 80 or 443. Since Windows 2008 onwards where the firewall is enabled by default, port 8080 isn't allowed unless you use a rule. You can either download the documentation from Firstline and pop IIS on top, allow a firewall rule and use the apache ports, or configure apache to use 80 and 443 (i think you may still need to add a firewall rule in this case).

That's all off the top of my head, I've not been in a technical position with Facility and ePortal in some years, but the support team would be able to help further on Monday morning. If you're stuck and need to get it sorted before Monday PM me and i'll give you / get you some support during the day.

I would change the port number from 8080. I would also set up IIS and create a self certificate and run the shortcut in classrooms to that address.

Hello, thanks for replies. It transpired the problem was Windows Firewall on the server. I disabled it and eportal works instantly everywhere. Thanks!
