JChapman Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I am trying to find out where data originates from on a marksheet. There is a data review column which is driving me nuts. It seems to be calculated from within another marksheet but I have trolled through as many marksheets as I can to see if I can find it.... Is there a way of being able to trace this easily?
PhilNeal Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I'm pretty sure the calculation will not be from another mark sheet.
SouthCoastSaint Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 If you right click on a result you can sometimes see the template associated when the result was input. However, as Phil says, if it is a data review column, those columns don't save, the results can't be used elsewhere in Sims, they are a more temporary option.
Banjo Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Data Review is just an aspect that has been added to a template that cannot be edited from within that Marksheet. Effectively making it a read-only column – good for things like Key Stage results/TAs. If this is the case then the original Marksheet where the data was entered may no longer be on the system and could have been deleted. Does the aspect heading have the infinity (f) symbol in the column heading. If it doesn’t then the above applies. If it's a "Data Review using a Formula" column then it's a virtual ‘temporary’ aspect and has to be generated from within that template/marksheet. If it’s a “Data Entry using a formula” aspect on the marksheet then potentially the ‘result’ aspect that you can see can be used in more than one formula across any templates/marksheet. Each time someone calculates from another marksheet the results in this template can change. You will need to search across every every template/formula to look for the aspect name to see if it’s been used by accident. There is a bug I’ve seen in AM, where by importing templates certain aspects are switched around in the templates and formulas. 1

If it's this option though, right clicking on one of the results that is updating and selecting View/Edit result history, you will see a template name to point you to the place where the result was entered or calculated. 1
JChapman Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 Information gratefully received. Issue now resolved. The column had been calculated the beginning of last year then the marksheet removed. Nearly drove me mad... Apologies for delay in thanking. It has been a very hectic start of term. Easier next year I hope.
