hyb80 Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 We are having a few problems with google drive not loading correctly through either IE or Chrome. If i delete the users profile off the PC is resolves this but it is becoming that common that this is taking up way too much time. Anyone else seen this? By default our users do not have access to internet options for chrome or IE so clearing the data manually is not possible? Anyone seen this or know why it happens? Cheers
CyberNerd Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 Whenever we have Chrome problems that is tracked to an account it is 9/10 times fixed by CTRL-SHIFT-DEL to clear cache. If you want to check if any plugins are running/confusing things try SHIFT-ESC to get the task manager. 2
hyb80 Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 Do you allow user access to the the chrome settings? I have always disabled access to the "Chrome" scheme via the "disable URL protocol schemes" to prevent settings being played around with anyway of just allow access to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData
CyberNerd Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 (edited) We don't disallow access to settings. I can't see any harm in allowing it; it's been installed throughout the college since about 2009 and never noticed problems. Important settings are pushed via GAFE or GPO. edit: should say that on the windows machines the profile is deleted on reboot, on chromebooks I am still waiting for issues. CyberNerd Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 How do you enforce the profile delete? thin clients, it does it by itself. You could probably use delprof on a logoff script in windows. Thinking about it, we don't do this on OSX and not had any problems there either.
