[sims] Person/SIMS ID unique?

Afternoon All,

 

Is the SIMs_ID (Person_ID) a unique value or do students and staff have their own list so their may be duplicates?

 

Just trying to find a variable that works for both staff and students for linking on an external service.

Sure this is unique as I use this to link a couple of things to AD accounts.

It's unique as far as I can tell (although it's called different things as you've spotted in different parts of the report builder) and does tally up if you export from different parts of SIMS (ie student becoming staff).

It is a hidden field, accessible via reporting only (or via API) - you need third party reporting permissions on the account using the reports.

The name wouldn't have changed. Try a different reporting focus. Are you looking for staff or students? Do you have permission over the relevant person area as well?
