Hearthstone. Does anyone play it? Could have an Edugeek hearthstone tournament or just play for fun.

I log in sometimes, play a few games (usually Tavern brawl) to get my quests done and then log off. I keep meaning to play more arena with the gold I've built up but never feel in the mood for it.

I know what you mean, if you're lucky enough to have a decent legendary it can make or break a game. I don't have any in my main deck and I still win at least as many as I lose.

I've meant to take a look at Hearthstone for a while, but never have done. I hear it's kinda like MTG except instead of drawing mana you get one per turn.

 

How accurate that description is, I don't know, but I do have an MTG deck (Though, way more than 3-series out so thus, illegal for all but casual play) so it's on my to-try list. How P2W is it?

Depends how quickly you want to win. For 100gold (in game currency) you get one pack. You get gold by completing quests (win 3 games as a shaman, deal X amount of damage in one game) you can have three quests at any time and are given randomly as far as I can tell. Real money will buy more packs, each pack contains at least one rare or better card. So the more packs you open the more chance you have of getting those legendary cards. Thats about it really. I've probably only spent about £20 of real money on packs (which is way less than I was sinking into WOW) and I'm happy with my deck.

I will say that it's not really worth buying packs on their own unless they are on special. It's more efficient to use the gold for Arena entry, even if you scrub out at 0-3 then you get a pack, if you get at least 7 wins then you should be making a profit from the rewards.

I play quite a lot of hearthstone (Legend rank achieved) but the current meta just seems somewhat off. I have pretty much every legendary and epic worth having, as well as 1000's in gold which i have never needed to use.

 

I have 4 gold characters (warrior, mage, priest and druid) but for the life of me i can't get past rank 15 this season! i'm winning one and losing 2!

 

Anyone up for a game or 2?

I assume by MGT you mean magic: the gathering? If so then i advise you to stop playing that and take up hearthstone, MGT is pants
