Not sure if this is what you are asking for but I've created a calendar in O365 which can be linked to from our school website and shows all of the dates/events for the coming year. I have it set so that a couple of Admin staff can add events to it.

To do this, first off I created a new Active Directory user called "School Calendar" and let this sync via our ADFS/Dirsync server. Then I used the O365 Admin centre to assign the user an Exchange license and added myself as a user with full permissions on the account (due to the SSO nature of our system).

Once this was created I opened the Inbox of the calendar account (while still signed in as me) and went to the Calendar page. Right click on the Calendar name on the left and choose Sharing. Add the names of the Admin people I want to be able to edit the calendar and give them Editor permissions. Click on 'Send' to email them the invite.

Right click the calendar again and go to Permissions. Next to the "Outside the Organization - Public" section, use the dropdown box to set it to 'Full Details' (or Limited depending on your preference). OK on this to exit that settings page.

Go back into Permissions again and you will now have a hyperlink for the publicly accessible URL. You can copy this and make it the target of a hyperlink on your school website.

Get the Admin staff to accept the email for the shared calendar invitation and away you go! They can then add/delete events and anybody accessing it via the school site sees a read-only version :)

After this I removed my Full Control permission from the account as it was no longer required.

We currently have a calendar user setup in o365. Works fine however it relies on people adding it to their calendar. Instead, I'm thinking about adding a calendar to our Staff SharePoint site. I'll add a workflow to send an email to the All Staff email group when someone adds or changes an entry. That way everyone is notified of changes. It should be simple to configure using SharePoint Designer.

For us, we setup a shared mailbox.

In Outlook, the person responsible can see the calendars and add items etc.

From the Portal > open the shared mailbox > go to the settings > publish calendar & set the options. Make a note of the publishing url.

After that, tell all users to add the calendar from the calendar tile (nowhere else).

Add Calendar > From internet > paste in URLs.

As xyz adds new calendar items they get automatically synced after ~4 hours to everyone else. If they've joined the O365 account to a mobile device or Outlook, it'll automatically grab the shared calendars just added as well.

(If anyone wants better instructions, let me know...)
