Cannot find anything about this online - best I can find it's related to how VMware deals with snapshots when the machine is off.

 

Value "autoCommit" for variable "snapshot.action" is not a valid value

 

Best I can think is when I upgraded the VM from 11 to 12 obsolete settings were left in the .vmx file - I assume if I back it up and remove the offending lines it should solve it?

 

Not sure why I upgraded from 11 to 12 Pro - apart from it being the newest and best. Still with an edu license it was only £58!

Do you have any snapshots on the VM? If so throw them away or consolidate them VMware doesn't like you playing with it with Snapshots hanging about

Hi Trapper, pls let me know frm where you have deleted the line? how have you opened the vmx file? I am not able to fix it at my machine and getting the same error error.png
