Trapper Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Cannot find anything about this online - best I can find it's related to how VMware deals with snapshots when the machine is off. Value "autoCommit" for variable "snapshot.action" is not a valid value Best I can think is when I upgraded the VM from 11 to 12 obsolete settings were left in the .vmx file - I assume if I back it up and remove the offending lines it should solve it? Not sure why I upgraded from 11 to 12 Pro - apart from it being the newest and best. Still with an edu license it was only £58!
john Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Do you have any snapshots on the VM? If so throw them away or consolidate them VMware doesn't like you playing with it with Snapshots hanging about

Arthur Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 how have you opened the vmx file? Shutdown the VM if it is running, open the relevant .vmx in Notepad, delete the line, then save.
