Just wondering how to do this. I have been on and off of it all day trying to get it to work. The pupils need access to this drive on the server e.g. Resources/students/subject/music

On profile manager i have tried adding it as smb and then the file path but every time i log in i get the error message could not connect to network share.

Any ideas.

Are you trying to map a shared drive that's shared to more than one person? Not an individual drive?

If it's something you can map manually then go into Profile Manager then go to "Login Items" and add the share. If you are running Active Directory or another service for login then can use the "Authenticated Network Mounts" option. This will use the users credentials to mount the share.
