Hi All,

I am after some advice, I have been asked by our head to configure our email system so distribution groups can't be created by end-users and only by ICT Support.

Is it possible to do this within Office 365?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Edu-IT

I have already followed this guide and completed the steps below:

1 - Sign in to the Office 365 portal as an admin, click Admin, and then click Exchange to open the Exchange admin center.

2 - In the left navigation pane click permissions, and then click user roles.

3 - Double-click Default Role Assignment Policy.

4 - Click to clear the MyDistributionGroups check box and the MyDistributionGroupMembership check box.

5 - Click Save.

This updated role assignment policy has then been assigned to the end-users.

However, users are still able to create groups in both OWA and their desktop Outlook client.

Any ideas?

I changed the policy a couple of weeks ago, so it should have had plenty of time to deploy to end users.

I raised the post in the fear I had configured the wrong policy in correctly.
