O365 Assign Individual Product License PowerShell

Currently I have many student users with the "Office 365 Education E1 for Students" license assigned, but without the "Exchange Online" product enabled.

 

I am looking for a way to script enabling this feature.

 

I am able to add a license for the whole product to an unlicensed user using Set-MsolUserLicense -AddLicenses, but it throws an error if I try to do that to a user who already has the license without the exchange online feature.

 

Is there a way I can add/enable just the Exchange Online (or any other) individual feature?

Could you not just script the removal of the feature then adding it again?

So remove the whole product license and then add it back?

 

Does that have any implication for the user and/or their data?

If they have a mailbox it will disable it then re-enable it i think. I'd test it with one user first to make sure nothing happens that you don't want to.
