DrCheese Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I've redirected my start menu as I did on Windows 7/8 - But it prevents users from searching when it's active. Has anyone else found this? If so, how did you resolve it?

DavetheITguy Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Check group policy to make sure the search function is enabled, we have disabled it as you can search for command prompt etc. Also, I'm pretty sure that even though the start menu has been redirected it cannot be searched. Hope this helps.
mslaterdws Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 We have the opposite problem, we don't want search at all for the reasons stated above that students can just click start and then run programs. How have people stopped search on their start menus? We have gone through GPOs made mandatory profiles redirected the start menu but with no success. Many thanks
