Apple Watch

Is anyone looking at how the Apple Watch can be used in education?

 

I have been thinking of the benefits in such lessons as PE to track and analyse heart rates etc. Or to monitor a student heart rate during a mock examination to pick up questions that caused a spike in the heart rate.

 

I'm hoping with watchOS 2 and less dependency on the iPhone that such things will become possible.

 

What do you think about educational uses of the watch?

To start a discussion on redistribution of wealth in a global economy in an ethics class?

I was think more of the technology available to enhance education....Wearable technologies are here and will continue to grow, it is how we can use these new forms of technology as they hit the mainstream.

Blue skies thinking for the foreseeable future. Not best use of a very limited budget in many schools. You can get a lot of other stuff for the price of a watch.

There's much less expensive heart rate monitoring/ fitness bands available

Our school have a couple of tomtom watches and heart monitors for this purpose as a test atm, think they are a fair bit cheaper than apple watches
