Arthur Posted February 16, 2016 Author Posted February 16, 2016 Deep inside Deadpool’s deadliest effects « FX Guide Director Tim Miller’s first feature Deadpool hasn’t just raised the bar for subversive, fourth-wall-breaking comic book films, it also pushes the art in terms of visual effects. From completely synthetic environments for the freeway chase, to a fully CG dialogue-delivering metallic character in Colossus, to a unique approach to Deadpool’s facial animation and an unforgettable frozen moment opening title sequence, the film showcases a raft of impressive tech. We talk to Miller, overall visual effects supervisor Jonathan Rothbart and VFX vendors Digital Domain, Atomic Fiction, Blur Studio, Weta Digital, Rodeo FX, Luma Pictures and Image Engine about just some of these key scenes. http://i.cubeupload.com/XGedDz.jpg http://i.cubeupload.com/OAVgh3.jpg

mthomas08 Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Saw it in Camden on Monday, was a good film. But now I see unicorns and think of Deadpool... It's a brilliant film. Bit like Ant Man I was expecting ... a low budget.. not a profit maker but pays for it self kind of movie but I enjoyed both. The humour is spot on what I love, the action is very good for a low budget movie and the direction of the movie was great. This will be a movie where the sequel is a must have for me. Think of Die Hard with a bit less explosions and machine guns, sexually frustrated all day and a super hero (or anti hero w/e they are called).
korifugi Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Saw it for Valentine's with Wifey - thought it was absolutely brilliant. Right from the self parodying opening credits "Starring - An Overpaid Douchebag, A CGI Character, An English Badguy" right up to the final "Chic-a-chic-aaa" (stay until after ALL the credits) References to Reynolds' other films, Hugh Jackman and chock full of Easter Eggs (Rob Liefeld, anyone?) - it has significantly raised the bar for the other upcoming Marvel movies.
