We seem to getting this message on a BSOD across a fair few of our machines ranging from a new Intel Core i5 to an ancient Core2Duo computer with the same build (excluding drivers of course) on them.

In the Event Viewer it simply says Bugcheck 0x00000050 which when you look it up simple means "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" which is what I already knew!

I could understand it it was on one particular make/model as it could be a driver issue but it's happening on brand new PCs as well as older ones.

Any ideas what could be causing this to occur on random student machines??

Can you recreate the problem or is it random?

It does sound like a driver issue but its hard to say whats common between them all, things like sound drivers get quite low level hooks.

It's pretty random I've got 2 computers from across the school in IT Services and have been rebooting them all morning and they've both blue screened at different times, the PCs can be working fine for hours at a time (or sometimes just minutes) before it happens.

We have issues in the past before with Intel Management Interface Engine that has the drivers installed as part of our WDS deployment. Some machines it really upsets them so we now just remove it from the Drivers and just ignore it. Not had a problem since.
