Smee Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Hi, Deputy wants to be able to have a excel sheet that users can enter data into but doesn't want them to be able to change the size of the cells. Ive tried the highlighting the required cells then making sure the box is ticked in "protection" on the "font" box on the "home" tab (sorry long winded) and then clicking on the "review" "protect sheet" buttons. But then I can't enter any data into the cells. Am I missing something simple? thanks
howartp Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 When you 'protect sheet', there's an option for what to protect - formula, formatting, etc.
Smee Posted July 8, 2015 Author Posted July 8, 2015 sorry Im being either really thick (most likely) or just missing something I've tried checking all the different boxes and I end up with either not being able to enter any data at all or still being able to move the width of the cells. sorry, my only excuse is it's nearly end of term................
howartp Posted July 8, 2015 Posted July 8, 2015 Hi, Do you see the attached image when you hit 'Protect Sheet'? By default, the first two are ticked, but by ticking 'protect format cells' it stops you adjusting the column widths. Peter 1
