File Server Home Drives

Guys,

 

Some students home drive files and folder text are now blue and staff cannot access them, but the student can.

 

Any ideas?

I think blue means they are compressed. If staff can't access anymore then check ntfs and sharing permissions?

How would they just become compressed, we use file server resources manager but cant see compression settings.

 

I right clicked, properties, advance and un-ticked compression, but it says an error occurred applying attributes to the files, access denied, that's as administrator domain.

Sounds like the permissions have become corrupt, you'll need to take ownership of the folders and reset the permissions.

The current owner of the folder is Administrators (File-Server\Administrators), would this need to be changed to domain admin

check the settings on a home folder that is working correctly and set it the same.

Domain Admins should be a member of the local Administrators group
