Of all the watches Casio is showing off, this one blew my mind the most. The VivCel VCL-100 had an antenna that detected when your phone was ringing, and would vibrate on your wrist as an alert. In 1994.

Here’s a touchscreen watch from 1991, the VDB-1000. It included features like a phone book, organiser, calculator, and notepad.

I can remember a boy in my class with the casio remote control watch in comprehensive, one German lesson, he took delight in randomly ejecting the video tape in a lesson when we were watching it, took everyone a while to cotton on to what was going on, the teacher at the time thought the video recorder was broken.

For my 18th birthday (1975), my folks bought me one of these Novus 1970's classic gold LED watch - The Retro World and I thought I was the business!

 

Actually I had two. They both quickly developed a fault - when you pushed the button to tell the time, it would stick and the battery would go flat. So it was replaced with a gold Citizen with hands and a date. Sadly it hasn't worked for a long time and it can't be repaired

This is my watch from which I lost when I was 6 or 7 ........ 20 years ago. It was found after part of my parents garden was revamped. It is running about 7 minutes slow and the backlight doesn't seem to want to light up but other than that it's fully working. Where do you forge these things.... Mordor?

I still use my CMD-40 wrist remote to turn the monitoring TV screen each day when I get in

I had one of these when I was at school, and would regularly get asked by the other kids "What time is it in x? go on - show me"
