Chrome Book Suppliers

For those who are using Chromebooks - what sort of costs are you paying and can anyone recommend suppliers.

 

Our Head went to a conference which went though all the reasons why iPads were not a good fit for education (a quick look around the forum here would have covered that!), that Chrome books were a better fit, and that you could get them for £120 - the closest I can find is £160 each.

 

If someone could point me in a good direction it would be very much appreciated!

dell chromebooks with 4GB ram are about £170/180 plus £19 for a licence if you want to manage them via google console - are you are a google apps school? - you will get more out them if you are. We got some from haptic.

I did get an offer of lenovo chromebooks cheaper - but consensus on here seems to be that dells are most rugged.

Thanks Maark - we are an office 365 school but the process should be the same (as in they can access documents etc OneDrive)

 

Will be using the management console if we expand the use - at the moment Im looking at getting a few in to have a play and see what they are like. Our suppliers were pretty open and said that they havent even seen them for the £120 mark so I think the figure has been given to bring people over to using them.

 

The £160 ones were Lenovo so will check out the Dells!

If the Haier Chromebook 11 was available in the UK it would cost approx. £95 + VAT.

 

XMA must be making a nice profit on their Viglen Chromebook since it has the exact same specs as the Haier.

It also depends how many you buy. If you have quotes for a few hundred the price goes down dramatically.
