Yup.. We hate it.. And it's a pain in the but to get to work if you have any kind of lock downs on your student computers.. Will help where I can though....

Yes. BUT we must have lock down for obvious reasons. How are u running it.. Do u use the PCs just for testing and nothing else..?

Had it for a year but have stopped using as the uptake was very low.

You basically need to give full permissions to various locations.. The metric folder for one.. Then you need to give access to various locations within office. For example there are PowerPoint samples stored somewhere in the office directory on c that they all need access too.. It's a very long winded process of testing and going through until something breaks and you go through it again!!

 

Where I am now the manager persisted and just kept battling through it. My previous school just bought 10 separate machines which were solely for gmetrix use ( specific login had local admin rights) ... But the school was an Microsoft academy so we could recoup costs from selling courses.

 

Sorry I can't help with a list of the locations. But I can hopefully at least give you some idea on where to start looking.

Not a school, but a Sixth Form College.

 

We have it running on our Win7 mandatory profiles.

 

It hates Sophos haha. Basically we had to up the maximum time between updates because if Sophos updated whilst someone was in gmetrix you got a windows installer error

 

It runs pretty smoothly here , feel free to drop me an email and I'll dig out my notes

 

The only issue we have at present is outlook - because we use a PRF file for our exchange box and it has a little moan it can't create a pst - but we have nearly fixed that

 

It's used quite a lot here
