abillybob Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Hey Guys, So we bought around 10 HP 350 G2's over the last couple of month and installed SSD's (Samsung Evo 840) in all of them. I have hit a brick wall where now I don't know what else I can do. I've tried updating the wireless driver, re-imaging them, imaging with a fresh Windows 7 Disc and installing the latest driver manually via HP's website, going to device manager and turning off the Power Saving for the wifi card. I have tried different IP addresses and different network (such as my home network). All machines seem to be affected and I don't know what else I can do to get rid of this problem, none of the machines in school that aren't of this make and model have this issue. The wifi will work for a while and then it'll just drop, shares will be lost, printers will be lost and they'll only reconnect if you try and access them but when re-coneccting it can take anything from 1 minute to 10 minutes when opening a mapped drive for example. I'm really hoping it's not the fact they just have carp wifi cards because as I've said we have 10 of them that have been given to staff and to have to send them back will be a huge disruption. Hoping one of you guys can shed some light on this Thanks in advance!
Steve21 Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Has it got one of those silly Mediatek ones in? We found BIOS update resolved a lot with the wifi dropping Steve
abillybob Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 I've tried the BIOS update too but this didn't fix it The wifi card in them is a Realtek RTL8723BE !
paulellam Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I have had a sporadic report on one of ours, but have failed to replicate the problem with any of the others. Will try and find out why its just one unit that it has happened to.
robjduk Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 had what sounds like exactly the same problem with Probook 430 models. Assuming you are running 8.1, ensure the bios is up to date, open the device settings on the wireless and ensure it is set to not allow the device to sleep to save power; however my technician found a new driver hidden deep on the HP website which fixed everything. If you PM me on Monday, I can send the driver over to you. Cant guarantee its the right one for you but it fixed all of our problems. I would do it now but have got into the habit of turning my work PC off over the weekend! 1
Shaftymorgan Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Hi robjduk, sorry to bring this post back, did you manage to help abillybob with the other driver? Thanks

I found: Drivers & Software - HP Support Center. Version:2023.5.130.2015 Rev.A (17 Mar 2015) It is not linked to HP 350 G2 support page for some reason but I have installed this driver and now getting better performance. No more lost packets and speed gone from 19-36Mbps to a solid 65Mbps
