MattDLEA Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 So just took hold of some laptops for teachers at home. In the past when I have used clonezilla I have just cloned a pc as is, put it on another one and gone in and changed the computer name and licence key. This seams to work. However is this the correct way of doing it. I have got the new laptop, installed windows, office and apps that are needed and also run windows update. do as normal or run sysprep ?
ReBoot Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Depends. Are you building a reference machine from scratch and then cloning - or starting with a customised manufacturers installation. If you are doing a scratch build then it makes sense to sysprep before deployment. That's the way I do it. Been using Clonezilla for a few years now and successfully cloned Windows and Linux based systems - invaluable tool. 1
