Office 365b csv upload fails

I've got to add in 12 people to our Office365 system (1st time I've done this)

 

tried a test csv 1st

 

User Name,First Name,Last Name,Display Name

steacher,Sam,Teacher,Teacher

 

but I get this error

Verification results:   0 users passed verification  * Required fields
We recommend that you print this page or save it as a text file.
Verification	User name*	First name	Last name	Display name*	Job title	Department	Office number	Office phone	Mobile phone	Fax	Address	City	State or province	ZIP or postal code	Country or region

The user name is not valid. You can only use letters and numbers. No spaces.

steacher	Sam	Teacher	Teacher

I think the username is the whole email address - did you use that?

They offer a blank spreadsheet so that you know the headings are correct - they must be absolutely as stated and you put a space and a comma in any blank cells
