Sorry, I know I'm being flippant, but there has been and will always be some story or another that teenagers freak themselves out over. I'm afraid I don't buy in to "Slenderman made me do it" - a couple of disturbed individuals who would have found another excuse if not Slenderman.

I'm with @LosOjos though. I don't buy into it. These girls are clearly confused and disturbed. "People who trust you become very gullible," one girl told police. "It was sort of sad." This is not the thinking of your average 12-year-old girl. Something happened, and it sure as heck wasn't the invention of a fictional horror character. Most of the Slenderman stuff should be blocked anyway as it's either game-related or creepypasta related (which isn't really school work or sites our kids should be using).
